Monday, May 15, 2017: L.A. Kauffman about Direct Action

Hi, everyone, if you missed Kate's interview with L.A. Kauffman, author of Direct Action: Protest and the Reinvention of American Radicalism, on May Day, this is your chance to hear this lively conversation about the nearly forgotten movements of the last forty years.

And even if you heard it, you'll want to tune in because this is a much fuller version of the interview, which went on for over an hour.  We're both deeply steeped in this history and also use it to reflect on the current situation and where to go from here.

"The government won't stop the war. The people will stop the government."

-May Day Action slogan, 1971

This is a fundraising show for Women's Magazine - the first of two this drive, so if you haven't donated in a while, please consider making a donation of any size.  We will be offering L.A. Kauffman's book, Direct Action, for a donation of $90, the interview for $75 and the book and interview combo for $150.  And most importantly, you'll be helping us keep doing programming like this, which is desperately needed in these times (and all times).
