Monday, June 29, 2015: Women's Empowerment Day at Hip Hop for Change

Women’s Empowerment Day at Hip Hop For Change’s Second Annual Independent Hip Hop Festival on July 4.

Kate Raphael interviews founder and executive director Khafre Jay of Hip Hop for Change. HipHopForChange seeks to address the injustices of representation by Corporate media through education, community building, and the creation of a platform for people who identify with Hip Hop culture to express their true voices, selves, and culture. We create a space that emphasizes and encourages the root values of Hip Hop culture: peace, love, unity, and having fun.

  1. s Empowerment will use the funding to enable more homeless women to participate in economic empowerment training, and will implement the Allstate curriculum as part of this effort.
