February 10th, 2014: One Billion Rising & Tribute to Gwen Avery

KPFA Women's Magazine honors the life and powerful music of blues singer Gwen Avery, who died suddenly a couple weeks ago at the age of 71.











We also talk about this year's One Billion Rising events with local activist and priestess Afia Walking Tree.

And we showcase the film "Radical Harmonies," a documentary of the women's music movement, from the 1970s forward.  Women's music is more eclectic than we often think.  We are offering the film as a thank you gift for donations to KPFA during this fund drive show.
