Monday, November 13, 2017: Cynthia Enloe on Militarism and Sexual Harassment

What does the ever increasing militarism of our society have to do with the pervasiveness of sexual violence and misogynist harassment in our society? I consider the intersection of mass killings, endless US war and Veterans' Day, and look back to a conversation with Cynthia Enloe, one of the foremost theorists of the links between militarism, masculinity and misogyny in our culture, about pervasive sexual harassment in the military. Though the events we discuss took place four years ago, the conversation is highly relevant to the revelations of the last few weeks.
