This episode of KPFA’s Women’s Magazine celebrates the life and work of Toni Morrison the first African American to win  the Noble Prize for literature and who also won a Pulitzer Prize for her ground changing seminal book “Beloved.”  Toni Morrison whose writings changed the literary landscape to include those of black people especially black women is described by the New York Times as “writing luminous, incantatory prose resembling no other writer in English.”

Jovelyn Richards and Lisa Dettmer discuss the importance of Morrison's work and life and we listen to clips of the new documentary about her life called “Toni Morrison: The Piece I am.” The film and her newest book “The Source of Self-Regard”  are offered as gifts for the KPFA fund drive and you can donate securely on-line.  Thank you for your support of feminist and radical women’s voices. Any amount shows that KPFA Women’s Magazine is important to you.

Thank you!
