Monday, September 11, 2017: Joey Brite

Here we speak with Joey Brite, general manager of the Rialto's Elmwood Theater, about the upcoming screening of Southwest of Salem: The Story of the San Antonio Four, about a little-known case of anti-lesbian bias and miscarriage of justice.  Brite also talks about the new film The Battle of the Sexes, a comedy starring Steve Carrell and Emma Stone as Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King, highlighting the battle for equity in sports and beyond. Battle of the Sexes will be showing at the Elmwood at the end of September. And she fills us in on the drive to get more women instrumentalists hired at the Monterey Jazz Festival.
